Lessons in Love Leader Training – On-Demand

Are you passionate about guiding singles towards healthier, more fulfilling relationships?

Become a Lessons in Love Leader and start hosting singles workshops! For clinical professionals.

The Gottman Institute with Stacy Hubbard, LMFT, has adapted the Gottman Seven Principles to help singles learn the foundations for future relationship success. Individuals who attend singles workshops will be able to learn more about themselves, reflect on their past relationships, and increase emotional awareness for future connections.

What you will learn

As a Lessons in Love Leader, you’ll have the unique opportunity to teach people how to prepare for a future relationship by providing a combination of scientific research with specific skill sets and exercises.

Individuals who attend a Singles Workshop are able to learn more about themselves, reflect on their past relationships, and increase emotional awareness.

Your singles workshops will allow participants to…

  • Learn about the phases of a relationship and how to know future partners in a deep, profound way
  • Build friendship and trust while dating and in future relationships
  • Recognize and respond to bids for emotional connection
  • Understand how “negative” and “positive” emotions influence relationships
  • Evaluate past relationships to plan for future ones
  • Understand and work with solvable problems, perpetual problems, and gridlock
  • Create a special “Story of Us” and maintain relationship gains

Take your workshop participants through the three systems of the Seven Principles:

The Friendship System; Principles 1-3

Friendship is the foundation of most relationships. Understanding the importance of a strong friendship can motivate you to befriend your partner repeatedly.

The Conflict Management System; Principles 4-6

Dr. John Gottman’s research findings emphasize the idea that people must learn to manage conflict rather than avoid or attempt to eliminate it. Discussing issues is constructive and provides a positive opportunity for understanding and growth.

The Shared Meaning System; Principle 7

A successful relationship is about more than paying bills, getting chores done, and checking off the to-do list. It is also about building a meaningful relationship that has a deeper dimension and is rich in shared meaning.

By participating in this course, you will…

Transition to Parenthood is an evidence-based and research-tested program to help prepare couples for life with a new baby and the joys and challenges of the transition to parenthood.
